Highly regarded by the Prison Service and the Ministry of Justice, we’re a well-run prison with a good reputation for developing innovative solutions to problems. We believe in striking the balance between rehabilitation and security – and employ staff who understand this.
What's more, we're about to enter a period of major expansion. Our new house block will make us one of the top three prisons in the UK in terms of size. The expansion programme clearly reflects our growing success and reputation with the customer.
We currently have 1200 prisoners, and employ 600 staff – including Prison Custody Officers, Operational Support Staff, Teachers, Chaplains, HR Professionals, Instructors, Management, Receptionists, Finance Professionals, Psychologists, Administrators and more.
The new house block will see us increase to up to 1670 prisoners and around 800 staff, offering new opportunities across all functions.
